Itinerary
On the first day, we will pick you up at the airport/terminal/hotel in Pangkalan Bun and take you to Kumai. Kumai is a port village to the west of Tanjung Puting National Park and also the entrance to the Tanjung Puting National Park area.
Arriving in Kumai, we can go straight to the klotok and we will introduce you to the klotok crew who will accompany and serve you during the trip.
When everything is ready, we can start our journey to Tanjung Puting National Park.
Along the way, it is very possible for you to see some animals such as several species of birds, monkeys, and very possibly wild Orangutan along the way on the river to the first camp (Tanjung Harapan)
Arriving at the first camp we can immediately trek for about +- 25 minutes to see the orangutan feeding at 2 pm. There you can see about 5 or 15 orangutans.
After that we returned to the klotok and continued our journey along the river to see the monkeys and proboscis monkeys which are very easy to find in the trees around the river and decided to spend the night.
You can wake up early in the morning to enjoy and listen to the sounds of animals such as birds, monkeys, or large male orangutans, while enjoying coffee/tea on the kelotok. You can continue the journey to the 2nd camp (Pondok Tanggui) and do trekking for +- 25 minutes to see the orangutan feeding at 09.00 am.
After seeing the orangutan feeding at the 2nd camp we can continue the journey to the 3rd camp. The 3rd camp we call Camp Leakey to see the orangutan feeding at 2 pm, Camp Leakey is the last camp that has clean black water above the sekonyer river. There are many crocodiles and we can also find many orangutans and other animals such as wild boars and langurs.
There is an Information Center which is usually open from 12.30 to 02.00 pm.
After that we will invite you to visit the Leakey feeding camp to see the orangutan feeding.
After you are satisfied with watching the orangutan feeding, we will invite you to return to the klotok and find a place for the klotok to rest and spend the night in the nipah forest area of the Sekonyer River.
Our breakfast is served back on the kelotok, starting the last day of your trip. Your agenda for today will be specifically adjusted to your flight/return schedule from Tanjung Puting National Park.
We prioritize the element of flexibility in every trip, therefore we recommend that you communicate with our Tour Guide and Crew.
Arriving at Kumai port, it's time to say goodbye to your travel crew, your tour guide will take you to the airport/next destination before saying goodbye.
